Job Description:
Reporting to the Vice President of Nursing and Patient care Services, the Director of Nursing plays a leadership role in supporting the Mission, Vision, Values, and Philosophy of Emerson Hospital Department of Nursing. Through the demonstration of excellent leadership and communication skills, the person in this role actively participates in the Department of Nursing’s efforts to achieve the highest level of Quality Care and Service Excellence in an environment of teamwork and trust. S/he continuously enhances nursing practice at Emerson Hospital through self-development and role modeling. Minimum Qualifications: Education - Graduate of a professional nursing school. BSN required with Masters in Nursing or related degree preferred. Experience - Minimum of five years experience in a nursing leadership position with demonstrated accomplishments in leadership activities. Licensure and/or Certification - Currently licensed to practice professional nursing in Massachusetts. Specialty Certification preferred. Skills ˇV Demonstrated ability to function independently in an environment of teamwork and collaboration. Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and customer services skills. Strong organizational and project management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access and Excel, and Powerpoint required.
