Job Description:
BASIC FUNCTION: Supervises technical support functions of the manufacturing facility to meet or exceed financial targets and performance goals, and leads manufacturing to consistent, sustainable world-class performance. Plans and administers all phases of manufacturing activities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Guides the completion of special/major projects and/or programs by functioning as an advisor to the unit and subordinates to meet schedules and resolve technical or operational issues. 2. Assists in providing information to be used for senior management presentations. Assists in monitoring, preparation and review of budget information. 3. Provides input in development of strategic manufacturing plans to achieve company objectives. 4. Develops, plans and implements processes and procedures to ensure manufacturing targets and performance goals are met and drives initiatives for continuous improvement. 5. Drives Continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing facility. 6. Champions the organizations culture and sets example for pursuing strategic vision. 7. Utilizes resources effectively and efficiently to meet or exceed organization goals. 8. Trains, develops and evaluates subordinates to improve current performance and prepare for future positions within organization. 9. Researches and recommends new technology, process improvements, cost reductions, and systems, modifications. 10. Analyzes, documents, and implements recommendations for correction of process failures. JOB REQUIREMENTS: · B.S. Degree in Engineering with and/or mechanical disciplines or appropriate work experience. · 3+ years of supervisory experience · 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience in construction equipment industry or similar industry · Good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and capabilities; including JIT, CAD/CAM (AutoCAD and Pro-E), Quality planning tools, robotics, etc. Will require working in a variety of capacities including Tool, Industrial, Plant, Process and Manufacturing Engineering. · Working knowledge regarding process improvements and reengineering methodology and application (e.g., Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing Principles). · Working knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and manuals. Working knowledge of production scheduling and quality guidelines. · Good mechanical aptitude.
