Job Description:


Responsible for the daily management of a non-exempt production work team in the Electrical Strategic Manufacturing Center. Apply and utilize lean concepts throughout the current production process and use forward thinking vision to improve existing processes. Apply knowledge of multiple production processes, operations, and materials (e.g., assembly, tooling, test, electrical/electronic) to manufacture company products that will supply a number of customers throughout The Boeing Company. Apply knowledge of manufacturing support disciplines, (e.g., inventory management, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, change management) to improve production processes. Manage overhead, labor and non-labor budgets and recognition funds. Lead process improvement activities using lean manufacturing tools. Collaborate with support organizations and communicate site strategies to employees. Model ethical behavior through each and every situation. Discusses ethical issues with employees and completes training; encourages employees to openly discuss ethical concerns. Ensures own behavior, direct reports and processes adhere to ethics principles. Recognizes and addresses unethical behavior through established processes. Takes positive action to resolve the conflict in a way that addresses the issue, dissipates the conflict, and maintains the relationship. Summarizes to ensure that all are aware of agreements and required actions. Managing Work Identifies more critical and less critical activities and tasks; adjusts priorities when appropriate. Ensures that required equipment and/or materials are in appropriate locations so that own and others' work can be done effectively. Motivating Others Creates a climate within the workgroup in which team members want to do their best. Instills a sense of purpose by communicating and creating buy-in with workgroup goals and objectives. Proactively gathers information to understand probability of success, benefits of success, consequences of failure, and opportunities for mitigating risk.
