Job Description:
Syracuse Research Corporation (SRC) is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join a growing and highly capable team of mechanical engineers and designers currently developing state of the art Radar, Communication, and Electronic Warfare systems. Candidate will be the primary mechanical engineer on a program, and will work closely with engineers and technicians from multiple disciplines to develop and test mechanical designs for both our prototyping business at SRC, as well as transitioning these designs to our manufacturing business at SRCTec. Candidate will be expected to apply best practices for drawing and configuration control, and should have experience in the design/development of complex mechanical systems including 3-D modeling, structural analysis, thermal analysis, electro-mechanical (positioners), materials selection, specifications, and tolerances. Experience with military, radar, or communications systems is preferred. SRC Engineers are immediately integrated into multi-discipline design teams and given the opportunity to develop unique technological solutions to extremely complex problems. Initiative, creativity, teamwork, and education are all crucial aspects related to being a successful engineer at SRC.
Job Requirements:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree with 5 or more years of mechanical engineering/design experience. A master's degree in engineering or current graduate studies would be a plus. Working knowledge of ASME Y14 standards, including GD&T standards. Understanding of configuration management and design control. Must have experience with SolidWorks, Pro E, or equivalent. SoildWorks is preferred.
