Design Engineer
The Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and documentation of switching, sensing, and control systems for application in aerospace electrical power distribution and management systems.
The successful candidate will have experience with the design of 8051 based microcontroller embedded systems in addition to the design of analog, digital, and power supply circuits. Experience with developing, writing, and debugging software for 8051 based microcontrollers with C and Assembly platforms will be required. Knowledge and experience with the design and implementation of the CAN serial data bus will be a plus.
The candidate should be knowledgeable of the application and control of electrical power switching devices such as contactors, relays, and solid state power controllers as well as be familiar with voltage/current sensing and monitoring.
Requirements, Qualifications, and Skills
• BSEE with 5 or more years of experience with 8051 based microcontroller embedded system hardware and software development
• Analog, digital, and power supply circuit design
• Demonstrated use of schematic capture, layout, and simulation tools
• Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and meters
• Generate and maintain project documentation including schematics, drawings, test data, and reports
