Job Description:
Laser Systems Development Engineer
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, and document software modules
• Lead efforts to develop a thin film scribing machine through design and modifications to the laser, optics and beam delivery sub-system
• Design and develop changes necessary to the laser, optics and beam delivery systems to address various thin film PV market applications
• Work closely with equipment mechanical, electrical, controls, software design teams and process development engineers and transition product from development to production
• Evaluate current designs for laser systems, optics and beam delivery and identify and work to address gaps
Requirements:
• BA/BS in Physics, Optical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or a similar engineering field is required
• MS or Ph.D., preferred
• 5 to 10 years experience with lasers, optics and system engineering
• Knowledge of laser systems and optics
• Excellent understanding of Electrical/Electronic systems
• Knowledge of computer applications and Microsoft applications
• Ability to problem solve and multi-task
• Good analytical skills required
Must have good verbal and written communication skills
