The business development director in support of the Engineering Services (ES) business unit requires professional skills and abilities focused on the identification of new business opportunities and new customer relationships. Individuals at this level employ capture management skills to identify, bid, and win large or strategic contracts and major contract task orders with federal defense and civil agencies. The individual will prepare strategies and business plans for assigned markets/accounts or indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract(s) to identify, qualify, and prosecute near term funded business opportunities. The business developer will create plans and identify opportunities that provide the potential to sustain business growth in succeeding years. The individual will execute capture management principles to build industry teams and develop winning marketing and bid approaches for selected opportunities. A candidate for the business development position must possess knowledge of federal acquisition processes and have business development skills typically received through a four-year degree, or equivalent experience, and / or 10-15 years of related experience.
