Job Description:

Responsibilities will include: Ensure that only safe, legal and quality products that meet our specifications are delivered to the Burger King system. Approve and audit all local suppliers in our region. Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve product quality issues at restaurant level. Work with government and regulatory agencies on public health and environmental issues. Establish, monitor and enforce corporate quality assurance and food safety programs. Implement product quality monitoring systems to identify and resolve issues before they arise.Respond to product safety and illness or injury reports and investigate causes. Manage regional product specifications compliance with local suppliers and improve quality through setting up routine product evaluations, laboratory testing and consumer sensory evaluations. Work with local health department in resolving regulatory issues. Development and commercialization of all new product introductions including authoring of BK product specifications. Includes sourcing of raw ingredients, establishment of manufacturing processes, development of critical quality and safety control points, specification of frequency for in-process and finished product testing criteria and definition of finished product standards. Negotiate lowest fair prices for products with local suppliers and manage logistics for efficient distribution chain. Assure adequate inventory levels at all distribution centers to mitigate product shortages and prevent obsolete inventory of promotional items. Requirements Minimum of 10 years relevent experience Must be fluent in Spanish (oral and written) Portugese a plus Bachelor's degree required Knowledge of food microbiology, food chemistry and ingredient functionality Knowledge of food manufacturing processes. Knowledge of HACCP, GMP's, SSOP's and other quality and safety programs Knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory requirements related to safe handling of food Knowledge of import/export regulations customs clearance requirements and import restriction Qualifications: Minimum of 10 years relevent experience Must be fluent in Spanish (oral and written) Portugese a plus Bachelor's degree required Knowledge of food microbiology, food chemistry and ingredient functionality Knowledge of food manufacturing processes.
