Job Description:
LIS Manager –We are seeking an individual with a combination of clinical and systems knowledge to manage Laboratory Information Systems projects. Healthcare Network is a private, not-for-profit organization and provides advanced, comprehensive, integrated quality medical services in the greater Philadelphia region and opportune markets. Our network comprises multiple operating divisions offering services including acute/level I trauma, skilled nursing, long-term, rehabilitation and behavioral healthcare. In this role, you will assume immediate responsibility for: Managing and coordinating all laboratory information system (LIS) projects and activities for the Information Services Department on behalf of Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Project responsibilities include needs analysis, system evaluation and selection, development, implementation and post implementation support The daily operations and support of the Laboratory Information System, and its instrument interfaces and communications with other AEHN systems Supervising staff; assessing system utilization; managing systems related projects, establishing timetables and communicating project status to appropriate management and administrative personnel Developing and mentoring direct reports with an eye towards enhancing their core competencies and preparing them for future career opportunities Managing key project initiatives to successful completion, including updates, upgrades, and other systems-related activities Acting as primary contact with software vendors, implementation teams and other AEHN staff Providing status updates to Senior Management If you possess the following qualifications, please apply immediately: Bachelors Degree required in Computer Science, Laboratory Science or Business; MT (ASCP) or equivalent preferred A minimum of 3-5 years laboratory systems experience required Demonstrated Project Management experience including experience with systems conversions, new package releases, systems selection and implementation processes Experience with laboratory computer systems in a hospital setting and utilized by the institution Demonstrated management and supervisory skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to use and develop detailed project plans, as well as other standard project management tools and techniques 2-3 years experience managing cross-functional teams and implementing laboratory systems desired Healthcare Network.
