Job Description:
Respiratory Care Supervisor: Supervisor is responsible for coordinating operational and personnel activities under the direction of the assigned Director or Administrator to ensure the provision of quality services meets the needs of those served by the department. The supervisor provides leadership based on the mission, vision, and values. The role includes ongoing collaboration and communication utilizing shared goal setting and decision making under the direction of their manager with physicians, associate providers, department staff and multidisciplinary team members. The Supervisor will maintain a professional environment and on-going development of staff. The Supervisor is mentored and assisted by the assigned Director or Administrator in applying current leadership and management theories and assists in the implementation of strategic and operational plans. The Supervisor participates in direct provision of services (e.g. patient care, other front-line department services, etc.) as necessary to meet patient and/or other customer needs. Qualifications: Minimum of five years' clinical/technical experience in Respiratory Care; Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Wisconsin. Graduate of an Associate Degree, AMA approved school for respiratory therapists and having obtained RRT status. Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support. Supervisory/Leadership experience with progressive increase in responsibilities preferred. Knowledge of and experience with continuous quality improvement and change management processes. Experience in a multidisciplinary, collaborative setting.
