Job Description:
We are developing a suite of exciting mission critical products aimed at telecommunications industry. These products are being developed with Java front end, J2EE middle tier and Oracle back end. We are using Oracle 10g including RAC and Partitioning. These products are highly transactional with very high volumes of data and provide a very challenging environment.
We are looking to hire mid level Oracle DBA to work on these products. While operational support experience in 10g environment is a must, programming (PL/SQL), tuning and modeling (ERWin) experience will be a big plus.

Job description:

Telecommunications company, headquartered in Fairfield (Cincinnati, Ohio) , is looking for a Database Engineer for the corporate headquarters. Pay is competitive and dress is casual!
Position Overview:
To install and administer Oracle databases.
To architect data structures on databases to support the software systems development.
To administer various Windows and Unix/Linux servers that host the databases.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To install RDBMS binaries and create new database services as and when required.
To administer RDBMS services including backup-restore, archival, disk space monitoring and management etc.
To tune the RDBMS services for optimal performance.
To develop complex SQL and procedural code on RDBMS.
To interact with business analyst to understand the requirements for new applications to be developed and architect the database scheme to support that development.
To interact with application developers to support and enhance the logical architecture of the RDBMS.
To administer various Windows and Unix/Linux servers that host the databases.
To prepare technical documentation as needed.
Consistently deliver high level of work quality, adhering to accepted quality and coding guidelines.
Reliably meet project deadlines and delivery requirements.
Support and promote the mission, values and principles of PowerNet Global Communications.
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:
BS in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
2+ years of hands on experience on Oracle RDBMS.
Experience Oracle administration and tuning.
Oracle programming with PL/SQL.
Experience in designing relational databases.
This person will need to be willing to wear a variety of hats serving in different roles. This would also be a great position for someone with less experience looking to get some training and experience under their belt.
