Job Description:
Responsibilities: This position reports to the lead of the methodology team within the Corporate Program Management Office for Walgreens. Responsible for working with other project managers, the portfolio team and others in the PMO to develop and improve our standard methodology, processes and templates for program/project delivery. Scope of work includes a program delivery framework for Walgreens as well as templates, techniques and process materials to facilitate clarification of roles and responsibilities, project governance, closing, initiation, tracking and reporting. Also responsible for managing medium to large projects at Walgreens using a standard project delivery framework and demonstrating solid program/project management approaches and techniques for project planning, delivery and reporting. Projects will span multiple business units and technology areas. Responsible for providing leadership to the project team in all 5 areas of the Program Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK). Responsible for contributing project management thought leadership to enable Walgreens to continue to grow our internal project management talent and capability. Must demonstrate sound project management discipline and approaches to all aspects of daily work, leading by example and assisting less experienced team members in project management processes, tools and techniques. Responsible for identifying, tracking, managing and mitigating risks and issues on projects. Responsible for development of lifecycle artifacts including; charter, project management plan, schedule, etc. Contributes to the community of project management at Walgreens through training, process or tools special project assignment and/or task forces. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree required. PMP certification from the Project Management Institute is highly desired. Demonstrated facilitation and negotiation skills required. Strong working knowledge of the software development lifecycle(s) and SOX requirements is required.
