Job Description:
The successful candidate will work closely with the Economic Development Director and City Manager to provide assistance for potential business or development interests that will contribute to a strong community identity and a robust, stable and sustainable local and regional economy. The ideal candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills, a keen sense of problem solving and a team oriented style. The City of Vancouver values creativity, innovation and progressive problem solving skills, and the successful candidate will have a proven track record demonstrating these talents. Vancouver is seeking a candidate who is results oriented, committed to getting things done, and able to contribute to achieving the City\'s vision while maintaining and building the credibility of the Department and City as a whole. He/she must build on the success of the City and assist the department in keeping things moving forward in a positive direction. Five to eight years of progressively responsible experience specializing in planning or economics in a public sector, or 10 years of progressively responsible experience in land use, real estate, or economics, including two years of project management experience in the private sector.
