Job Description:
Are you well-steeped in data management topics such as transferring COBOL flat-files to MS Access? Do you have experience as a Business / Data Analyst in the insurance field? If you're up for an interesting challenge then come join the Compliance Enterprise Operations team as a Business / Data Analyst. Here, you’ll support the Controller, corporate compliance, regulators, state / federal and legal departments with their reporting needs. Most of the data resides in TSO Cobol applications. You will use your business analysis skills to determine users needs, then your data analysis skills to parse, sort and merge data.
Responsibilities
* Convert Cobol flat files to MS Access
* 75% of your time will be spent parsing, sorting and merging data
* Packaging reports and sending these to 50+ regulatory agencies
* Understanding of state insurance regulations

Job Requirements:
* Demonstrated ability to analyze business problems and recommend solutions, ability to track, and escalate systems problems.
* Proven analytical and project management skills, technical aptitude, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated leadership ability.
* Comfort with ITIL processes and be able to discuss the value of these processes with customers involved in joint projects.
* Strong customer service skills and the ability to determine priorities with customer input.
* Experience creating business requirements for reports and home grown software.
* Ability to work with regulatory reporting.
* Experience with package software, including the upgrade process, experience working with vendors, and proven ability to work in a distributed environment and a mainframe environment would be ideal.
* Ability to deal with ambiguity.
* A strong desire to achieve results, a commitment to continuous improvement, and persistence in the face of obstacles.
