Job Description:
The Manager will be responsible for working with Project Engineering and Design personnel to maintain official Engineering design standards documentation and engineering guideline documentation. The Manager will be responsible for justifying Department manpower requirements hiring and termination of employees as required. The Manager will be responsible for employee evaluation and goal setting. The Manger will evaluate and ensure that the right person is assigned to engineering and design tasks according to their abilities as well as develop those abilities in personnel who report to the position. The Manager will help create and foster an environment that promotes engineering efficiency. He shall assure that effective engineering practices are incorporated and improved on a continual basis. The Manager will ensure project content is engineered and managed properly and design documents are available to internal and external customers according to the schedule. The Manager will ensure attainment of highest-level of project/program schedules, budgets, procedures and revenues by developing and monitoring the budget and approval process; leading cross-functional teams, internal and external to Engineering; resolving inter-functional issues; establishing and communicating project/program schedules, objectives priorities, and targets; monitoring the status of programs/projects; providing technical interpretation and expertise, as required; ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, government regulations, and customer specifications; ensuring the documentation of project/program activities and deliverables Keeps senior management informed on project/program status by creating and maintaining written reports on project/program status, tests, costs, issues, and performance to established targets on a regular basis; making presentations.
