Job Description:
The position of Business Development Manager will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties: Identifies, develops, and maintains new sales opportunities for assigned area subsidiaries. Ensures corporate, business group, and division business development, sales and profit objectives are met or exceeded. Obtains subsidiaries input to develop Area strategic plan, aligned with divisional strategic plan. Communication of this plan should be an on going partnership agreement with the subsidiary business leaders and the international business development manager in order to accomplish common goals. Works directly with division executives and senior 3M International subsidiary management as a team to allocate local resources. Provides leadership, coaching and direction to business Area and subsidiary personnel. Actively supports Six Sigma deployment and any other corporate initiatives in the Area through ongoing reviews of dashboards, goal trees, hoppers, active projects, and replication opportunities. Understands Area customer needs and industry trends. Major Duties and Responsibilities (Job duties that occupy 5% or more of the incumbents time and/or which are critical to the successful performance of the job.) 1. Market/Business Plan Development : Provides input gained from Area market knowledge Voice of the Customer and Voice of the Market to appropriate U.S. core business team and leads development of key strategies and actions to establish targeted business plans. Shares and helps implement the business global vision, establish business priorities, aid in resource allocation, establish and monitor meaningful metrics, and support the development of business goal trees and project hoppers.
