The role covers all 15 Wal-Mart Global markets and requires international travel to Latin America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific markets. Direct sales development contact with local market leadership is required with Wal-Mart’s and Diageo’s teams. Market Complexity: All Diageo brands across Beer, Wine, and Spirits portfolios, specific to the local market. Flexibility to adjust and align to different cultures, ways-of-working and routes-to-market is required, be that working with a direct sales force, third party distributor network or separate supplier company. Ability to understand categories and the strategic positioning of brands by market is essential. Role requires consistent and effective penetration of local market business owners (Key Account Managers) for the Wal-Mart business and the countries’ business leads, such as Sales Directors and Channel Directors. Qualifications: A minimum of five years of sales-related experience is required, preferably working on the Wal-Mart International business and within consumer packaged goods. Experience with the Beverage Alcohol Industry is a plus, and experience working with third party or complex distribution systems is preferred. Ability to show strong portfolio and product knowledge is required. Highly developed selling, influencing and negotiation skills are also mandatory. Strong background in managing and analyzing data, as well as understanding the dynamics of pricing, margins, investment and business plan development are critical components. Other key requirements include: Computer proficiency. Good presentation skills. Strong planning and time management skills. Ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity.
