Job Description:
 A leading manufacturer of heavy and medium duty trucks seeks a Manufacturing Engineer preferably with 5+ years’ experience. The candidate will be responsible for developing and improving safety and efficiency of manufacturing processes. Prepares, coordinates, and implements capital budget projects. Reviews product design for manufacturing feasibility. Plant layout, facility rearrangements, and production equipment design. Support maintenance and installation of new PLC controlled equipment. Continuous process improvement through application of six sigma methodology. Research quality problems to identify opportunities for improvement. Define how assembly processes should be performed to assemble parts to specification safely and efficiently with input from production personnel. Determine process variables which require monitoring to determine if the processes are in control and capable. Research capital budget ideas, prepare justification, design/purchase equipment, and coordinate installation. Review major product changes and provide input to design engineering on manufacture ability and develop manufacturing processes. Rearrange assembly areas and design new production equipment to accommodate product changes and/or improve process flow. Familiarity with use and application of PLC control systems. Perform ergonomic job hazard analysis and corrective actions. The candidate should have engineering degree (mechanical engineering,manufacturing/industrial, electrical or chemical engineering preferred).
