Job Description:
 A market leader in insurance and investment product lines seeks a Senior Financial Analyst with 5-7 years of accounting/finance experience. The candidate will be responsible for accounting systems, general ledger account analysis, and project management. Assist in creating new detailed reports for 12b-1 fees by class. Reconcile and create ongoing reports used for cash and funding analysis. Responsible for Essex subsidiary reporting and related communication with the tax department. Track Gain/Loss reporting while acting as the central point of contact with the operations and seg fund reporting departments. Assist with the day to day processes and financial analysis. Support Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) projects on an as needed basis. Work with accounting and actuarial to define the subsidiary reorganization project and manage the scope, strategy, and requirements for implementation. Assist with testing and coordinating the balance sheet project for the variable annuity accounting department. Manage various other business unit accounting projects as they arise. Create or assist with monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations and analysis. Document various accounting procedures within the department. Act as IFS coordinator (liaison to corporate for reporting systems) for the business unit. Oversee all general ledger and subledger structural, access, and modification issues for the business unit. Participate in the restructure of accounting processes that result from mergers or corporate reorganizations. Support reporting for different basis of accounting: CGAAP, USGAAP, NAIC. Responsible for providing assistance to the accounting group for problems as they relate to information systems. Act as the business continuity point person for the accounting group. The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Advanced degree and/or professional certification a plus. Should have advanced understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
