CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, LONG BEACH SENIOR DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT, COTA Salary to commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Senior Director of Development, College of the Arts implements strategies and executes plans to secure contributions to support specific programs and activities in the College of the Arts. The Director provides leadership and day-to-day management of an integrated program of development activities, including securing private support for the Cole Conservatory and participation in the University's Comprehensive Campaign. Works with the Vice President for University Relations and Development and the Dean of the College of the Arts to determine annual fund-raising goals for the College. Identifies, solicits, and cultivates prospective major donors to the College. Works collaboratively with other CSULB Directors of Development in the implementation of the overall strategy of the Division of University Relations and Development. Indentifies, solicits, and cultivates prospective major donors. Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Demonstrated success in major gift fund-raising including donor cultivation and solicitation. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to recruit and train volunteers to support fund-raising activities. Excellent planning, organizing and problem solving skills. We are seeking a self-directed individual with the ability to work without close supervision, but must work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Ability to communicate with an ethically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and nondiscrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assists in achieving the university's commitment to a vision of excellence. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of three years of related experience required. Five years of demonstrated successful experience in fund-raising preferred. Comprehensive Campaign experience preferred.
