Nurse Manager Department: Med/ Surg Schedule: Full-time Shift: Hours: Job Details: - Bachelors degree is required- 1-2 years experience is required- Computer experience is required- Customer service skills- Recent experience in the specialty area is requiredProvides 24-hour leadership for assigned units and coordinates activities within and between these units. Supervises the total nursing care of all patients on the unit/units of service and gives the appropriate direction to each staff member to provide quality patient care. Must also supervise the total environment in which care is given on his/her unit(s) by collaborating with all hospital departments. Maintains timely and open communication with all members of the multi-disciplinary team. Assesses the needs and responds to customers in a professional manner. QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS degree, non-bachelors degree nurses should demonstrate evidence of working toward a degree, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Graduate degree or Masters degree in nursing, health sciences, business administration or related field preferred. Minimum 35 years clinical nursing experience (2 years in combination with MSN) required, 3 years in a specialty position preferred. A portion of the years must include responsibilities for management, facilitation and coordination of personnel and systems. National certification in specialty field preferred. Current Illinois RN license. Knowledge of appropriate regulatory agency standards to include but not limited to JCAHO, OSHA and IDPH. Ability to implement teaching/learning strategies and facilitate group dynamics. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required. Strong leadership, team development, business management, strong written and oral communication skills. Tact, positive business demeanor and the ability to establish and maintain rapport with physicians and hospital personnel.
