Job Description:

Chief, Performance Improvement The Chief of Performance Improvement is responsible and accountable for utilizing advanced clinical and administrative skills in planning, designing, integrating, implementing, modifying and administering a Quality and Performance Improvement Program. The incumbent oversees continual evaluation of Performance Improvement (including compliance to external reviews and standards), Office of Inspector General (OIG), Comprehensive Assessment program (CAP), Performance Measures, Data Management and Validation and Patient Safety/Risk Management Programs. Requirements: U. S. Citizenship Current, full, active, unrestricted License Must pass pre-employment physical Designated and/or Random Drug Testing required. Background and/or Security Investigation required. The incumbent ensures that the organization\'s mission, vision, values, goals, role, authority and oversight responsibilities are clearly defined. The Chief of Performance Improvement provides direct support to the management team through administrative coordination and oversight of special projects and/or studies, work groups, assigned task force activity, and program reviews such as CAVHCS' committee structure, which is based on the Baldridge Criteria for Excellence. In addition, the incumbent serves as a consultant for the Performance Improvement process. The Chief of Performance Improvement is responsible for the healthcare system's readiness programs for all external surveys including Joint Commission, CARF and Special Site visits. In this role, the incumbent is responsible for outlining the organization's readiness programs which include formulating strategic plans, chartering and training teams, providing oversight of the teams, troubleshooting, and actually facilitating teams. The Chief of Performance Improvement supervises Performance Improvement Coordinators, a Risk Management Specialist, a Program Analysts, a Clinical Coordinator for Performance Measures, and a Program Support Assistant. Qualifications: The Chief of Performance Improvement is a licensed Registered Nurse with a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and a Masters of Science Degree in Nursing or other health related field. A minimum of five (5) years of successful nursing practice, three (3) years of which should be in nursing administration in progressively more responsible leadership assignments is required. The incumbent must have demonstrated the ability to practice nursing at the level of competence required for the specific grade.
