Job Description:
Engineers responsible for the development, implementation, and improvement of the manufacturing processes and equipment used in the manufacture of all products produced in the Canton Facility. The successful candidate must be able to lead the organization from its inspection/testing based culture to a fully capable, process focused manufacturing environment producing products of the highest quality at the lowest cost. SCOPE Daily responsibilities:Evaluate current manufacturing processes for improvement in the areas of documentation, throughput, capability, repeatability, accuracy, and efficiency. Develop and implement processes where formal processes do not exist.Work closely with Design Engineering in the development of new products, and improvement of existing products, to achieve the highest quality, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness. Develop and implement the appropriate processes, equipment, fixtures, work cell layout, work instructions, and validation protocol.Use of Automotive Quality approach (APQP, FMEA, MSA, Control Plans) to achieve and maintain process quality and efficiency. Work with Quality and Purchasing to improve purchase part quality and reliability.Lead in the implementation of lean manufacturing techniques.Participate and or lead major cost improvement programs for existing products. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONSThe ability to lead, develop support for, and achieve change.Excellent personal skills in leadership, coaching, and written and verbal communication.Proven success leading / managing engineers or technicians.Proven success achieving process capability and control.Experience with Automotive Quality Procedures (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans), as well as improvement methods such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DFM, and RCCA.Four year technical degree is required.Skills should also include AutoCAD or Pro-E, as well as experience with all phases of MRP systems documentation systems (BOM's, routers, etc). Knowledgeable in stainless steel MIG, TIG welding, metal forming and plumbing assembly. An in depth knowledge of machine and fixture design.
