Job Description:
Responsibilities: Verify all employees understand and adhere to all safety and environmental compliance standards Ensure minimum quality expectations are established and followed Provide support and guidance to establish internal controls for minimization of plant waste. Facilitate daily production meeting to address immediate safety and production concerns Drive continuous improvement on all machine centers to maximize throughput and profitability Measure all goals daily and inform production crews of progress and status Ensure production supervisor and team leaders accomplish plant initiatives as defined in a safe and efficient manner Work closely with direct reports to provide growth and training opportunities to diversify skills Manage continuous improvement program around the elements of World Class Maintenance Facility lead for capital project implementation Education: High school diploma with 10 years of plant leadership experience in a manufacturing environment or college degree in pulp/paper science, mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering with 5 years of industry experience required. Basic Qualifications: Prior Plant management experience in manufacturing, a solid/working knowledge is needed in equipment servicing, planning/scheduling, mechanical maintenance, plant engineering, converting products, quality and safety. Knowledge - Skills - Abilities: Must have a proven track record of achievement in Production management skills to include but not limited to safety, team building, waste improvement, and manufacturing excellence type initiatives. This job regularly requires interpersonal communications such as advising, recommending, or counseling, directing or delegating, exchanging information, selling, persuading or influencing and telephone communications; group communications such as participating in meetings or group discussions and conducting meetings or leading group discussions; and composing written communications such as documentation, internal memoranda and letters.
