Our client is a software company in Fremont in growth mode. We're looking for a SW Test Engineer to join their team for a six month plus contract. Successful candidates will have at least 2 years of blackbox testing, experience with DB/SQL profiling and strong browser/HTML knowledge. This Engineer will work directly with development, product support and PM/Coordination team members. He/she will take responsibility for testing a specific group of products, and can often be the sole testing force during their development. This position reports directly to a QA Manager.
You must be comfortable working in a stimulating and fast-paced environment. You should have a history of working directly with others in triage, resolving issues to the satisfaction of all parties. You should also be a candidate who is passionate about your bugs, but respectful of the development team.

Job Requirements:
* 2+ years experience with black box testing.
* 1+ years experience with DB/SQL profiling.
* 1+years experience with command line utilities.
* Experience creating and building test plans and cases; create schedule estimates for complex web applications.
* Knowledge of browser issues, experience with HTML, and familiarity deciphering web page source code.
* Familiarity with bug tracking software (Bugzilla or similar application).
Bonus Skills
* Experience working with a version control system (cvs, vss, or similar application)
* Familiarity with open source testing tools.
