Job Description:
Position is to perform entry-level laboratory services and assist others in more advanced procedures. The Media Department is a service department for Production, Quality Control and Research and Development. This department formulates, fills and delivers medias and solutions to those areas. At all times, following Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures and adhering to all safety and company policies, perform duties assigned by department supervision. These duties may include, but are not limited to: Cleaning work area including floors, walls, tables, etc. Prepare, clean and sterilize glassware and equipment for use Assist with equipment setup and operation. Assist with performing aseptic procedures including media preparation, antigen inoculation and harvest, tissue culture preparation and harvest, filling vaccines, etc. Concurrent record keeping including charts, log books, and all pertinent documentation. Assist in monitoring and requisitioning laboratory supplies. Report all unusual, non-routine occurrences when performing tasks. Qualifications Individual must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. Two years of experience with familiarity of laboratory procedures is desired. Incumbent must have basic oral and written communication skills, basic mathematical skills. The ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
