Job Description:
The Night Manager supervises all the departments during the overnight shift and is responsible to communicate all events from the prior day and evening to the leadership team. In addition, provides sincere service through actions that display self-confidence, grace and courtesy to guests and colleagues. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Provides direction and coordination for resort personnel in the absence of the General Manager, as needed.2. Provides employees with the information needed to perform their job effectively.3. Directs and coordinates various services related to operations as required.4. Assumes responsibility for supervision in the absence of departmental heads; communicates daily with department heads regarding areas of concern.5. Provides General Manager and Department Managers with summary of activities during shift by preparing and distributing written daily log.6. Works closely with the Front of the House Manager and Accounting.7. Orients employees to the department and resort and provides on-the-job training on job responsibilities.8. Prioritizes and assigns work.9. Provides feedback to the employee and department head on the employee's performance of job responsibilities and performs regular job performance evaluations.10. Checks guests' in, ensuring proper credit is received, special requests are noted / fulfilled and accurate information is established. QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred. 2-3 years prior hotel or hospitality experience preferred. Experience in high volume establishments. Excellent communication skills. Technical proficiency (basic computer applications). Management experience preferred. Attention to detail. Customer service experience. Strong organizational and time management discipline. Understanding of hospitality operating systems. Understanding of Rooms Division Departments. Solid judgment and ability to resolve conflicts effectively. Operate effectively in stressful situations. Ability to multi-task. Ability to adapt to changing guest needs.
