Description NURSE MANAGER, OPERATIONS DIALYSIS Manage and supervise functions of assigned patient care area on a 24 hour basis; ensure effective delivery of clinical patient care and compliance with administrative and clinical policies and procedures. Work Performed Participate in the development of the clinical areas' strategic and operational plans Actively support and promote a professional practice model that encourages staff participation in the development of clinical standards that is collaborative, collegial and utilizes current trends and data in professional practice (clinical and administrative). Serve as the staff and patient advocate to ensure optimal patient care. Interface with patients and families to ensure that care is consistent with their expectations. Ensure compliance with clinical patient care standards and established policies and procedures. Maintain clinical competencies for assigned clinical area and provides bedside care as needed. Education: BSN required, CNN required or ability to sit for CNN exam within 6 months of employment Experience: 5 years dialysis experience with 2 years of leadership experience preferred Expected Job Responsibilities: Fosters a unit environment that supports competence, employee growth and positive unit identification Assist with development of recruitment and retention strategies Development and implementation of staff orientation programs Development and implementation of staff competency programs Development and implementation of staff mentoring programs Participates with patient chart reviews and audits Ensures compliance with competency and regulatory requirements Knowledge Skills and Abilities N/A Level Characteristics N/A Minimum Qualifications Education An RN BS minimum education is required. Current N.C. license as a Registered Nurse is required. Experience Work requires a minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in dialysis. Two years management experience perferred. Degrees, Licensures, Certifications N/A.
