Job Description:
Social Worker, (Case Manager, VA Supported Housing. Will be accepted from United States citizens. The program is a collaborative effort, supported through HUD Section 8 rental assistance vouchers and VA's provision of intensive case management services. The primary goal of Organization is to move veterans and their families out of chronic homelessness. The primary component of the program is VA clinical case management services, designed to improve veteran's health and mental health, enhancing their ability to remain stable, housed and community-integrated. Major Duties: The incumbent is responsible for program oversight, monitoring and administration, serving as the primary contact with local Public Housing Agencies. Services are provided in healthcare settings and in the community. Candidates must meet the physical requirements outlined in Section II and Section VI of the OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, and must possess emotional and mental stability. 1. Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, regulations or other laws pertaining to public housing programs and VA benefits and healthcare. 2. Experience working with homeless veterans, working knowledge of VA homeless programs, and expertise with social work case management principles and techniques. 3. Ability to practice independently, using professional judgment and expertise to make decisions. 4. Knowledge of and experience with community-based program design, implementation, and monitoring including inter-governmental agency partnerships.
