Associate Chief of Nursing (Mental Health) United States Citizens. Incumbent has the responsibility and accountability for developing and maintaining a comprehensive Mental Health program, ensuring compliance with VHA Directives, Joint Commission standards and other review and regulatory standards. The incumbent provides organizational and leadership skills to develop and mentor a highly effective diverse workforce, to improve overall health care system operations to achieve performance measures and to support strategic planning initiatives. The successful candidate is responsible for initiating and participating in interdisciplinary projects and committees with the aim of improving outcomes in the management of complex Incorporates knowledge of appropriate care to veterans 18 thru the geriatric years, including all diagnoses found in adults (18-65 years) and older adults (66 years and up). Functions as an expert consultant I professional practice. Establishes priorities according to timely achievement of program/service goals and objectives. Applicants must have a master's degree in nursing or a related field with BSN and at least five years of successful nursing practice that demonstrates a high level of administrative and leadership skill. Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center CNOR and Nursing Administration Advanced is preferred. You must show successful completion of a full course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree or higher in the field related to the job to which you are applying. School of Nursing: Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-Accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant.
