To assist us with the growth of our contact lens business we are seeking a Senior Scientist (Chemistry).
The Senior Scientist (Chemistry) will have the unique opportunity to support new product initiatives and support the growth of new business. The Senior Scientist (Chemistry) will be responsible for:
ˇ Identifying and implementing improvements to the chemistry lab
ˇ Partnering with other organizations to drive change within the chemistry lab
ˇ Testing incoming raw materials and final product for conformance to specifications
ˇ Ensuring the lab complies with pharmaceutical GMP requirements
ˇ Complying with Vistakon's safety requirements
ˇ Coordinates laboratory activity in support of routine testing, product release, complaint investigations and non-conformance investigations
ˇ Supports test method development and technical projects
ˇ Troubleshoot/calibration/maintenance supporting procedures of instrumentation
ˇ Analyzes and assesses laboratory data and prepares monthly reports
Job Requirements:
A minimum of BS Degree in Chemistry or related field with 7+ years of experience, or a Masters Degree in Chemistry or related field with 3+ years of experience or a Ph.D. Degree in Chemistry or related field with 1+ years of experience. Proven technical skills and hands-on instrumentation skills are required. Knowledge of FDA, ISO, USP, and GMP regulations for pharmaceuticals and/or medical device required. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills in a pharmaceutical lab environment is preferred. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Strong written and oral communication skills is required. Ability to conform to flexible work environment and adjust to changing priorities.A high degree of problem solving abilities.Working knowledge of operational processes and statistics. Ability to organize and analyze data.
