Job Description:
At the general direction of the Chief Technology Officer plans, develops and analyzes computer application programs for new and continued development and implementation. Manages software systems from a total quality perspective.
Description:
• Assists in the design, development and systems analysis functions required to create new computer application programs or install and implement software obtained from outside sources, especially open sources.
• Analyzes planned and existing software systems from a total quality perspective.
• Troubleshoots hardware and software failure to determine causes of system failures and design solutions.
• Assures that software systems have thorough regression tests and monitoring.
• Provides technical information and advice regarding communication between networked system components.
• Prepares documentation on development processes, system design, and measured performance of software systems.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years experience in software engineering preferably within a banking or bank process environment.
• Experience with JEE development and deployment. Experience with highly available, clustered applications preferred.
• Knowledge of database systems including locking strategies, indexing and query optimization. Experience with MySQL preferred.
• Experience using Linux shell commands.
• Familiarity with current tools and technologies in software engineering.
• Commitment to quality through testing.
• A highly productive individual is desired. A high degree of skill in a key area, such as JEE, DB systems, or something else not mentioned, could counterweight other weaknesses.
