Job Description: SQL Database Administrator III sign on bonus, 90k-105k, yearly bonus Near Providence RI Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule Hours per Week: 40 Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Minimum 3 year experience Clear understanding of SQL Server RDBMS fundamentals Microsoft SQL Server 2000 & SQL Server 2005 experience required Experienced support large production SQL Server 2000/2005 environment Strong T-SQL skills Extensive experience in performing SQL Server performance tuning and troubleshooting Extensive experiencing utilizing SQL Server native tools Experienced in Windows OS fundamentals and basic troubleshooting Experienced in working a large distributed architecture environment Experience using database monitoring tools. Expertise in backup/recovery/fail-over/DR methods and best practices Ability to work independently on tasks Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams Excellent written and oral communications skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize Responsibilities Provides database support for applications development or production projects by interfacing regularly with users/team member. Establishes technical standards and guidelines for the effective use of database. Performs database tasks for development/production projects including implementing physical database design, 24x7 day support, maintenance setup, data modeling review and performance tuning as needed. Ensure high availability and reliability of all enterprise databases. Able to develop scripts to capture and report on critical database metrics. Has input to department policies and procedures. Maintains status of project responsibilities. Provides technical supervision on small projects. Able to work across functional teams to achieve group goals. Identifies and resolves technical issues and communicates to the team. Helps to define objectives for the team. Working well with MFG teams and external group teams. Writes conclusive e-mails when resolving issues with the user community. Writes comprehensive DAD documents. On occasion, addresses a small group on a technical subject or presents a demonstration of a system. On occasion, runs a project level meeting. Addresses and resolves routine issues. Coordinates Activities with Vendor personnel (vendor presentations, site visits, prepare for installations, etc.).
