Key Requirements: U.S. Citizenship Required A pre-employment background investigation is required. Major Duties: Major Duties at the full performance level GS-12 includes but is not limited to the following: Develop, implement, administer and evaluate the concession construction program and monitor for compliance with service standards and sensitive natural and cultural environmental criteria. Track project specific expenditures from multiple accounts. Consult, communicate and coordinate with the Division Chief and Concession Assest Manager to assure overall program consistency, provide project status in a timely manner, and highlight issues and potential problems. Participate in the reviews of project proposals and in the development of recommendations regarding project and funding priorities. Ensure that concession construction project goals and objectives are completed in a quality manner. Develop and evaluate project statements which define directions, scope, intent, and parameters including cost estimates, milestones, delivery schedules, and staffing requirements. Utilize personal technical expertise; critically evaluate significant aspects of project design such as mechanical, electrical, and structural elements. Examine materials, fixtures, equipment, and systems for compliance with minimum standards. Develop Class C estimates for project concepts proposed by the park. Review, evaluate, recommend approval, and approve contract specification and bid packages, contact awards, design packages, cost certification statements for contractor payments, contract change orders, and similar items requiring construction approval control points. Participate in and represent the division and the park in meetings on a variety of topics related to concession-related construction projects. Conditions of Employment Travel one to five nights per month may be required. Relocation expenses will not be paid. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor environments include low elevation foothills, rivers, steep slopes, and remote wilderness.
