Job Description:
Principal Engineer, Embedded Software Products,Suffolk County Long Island, NY
Principal Engineer to lead a team of software engineers charged with developing embedded software products and planning platform migration and re-use strategies across the Companies Branch.
Development of new or improved methods, techniques and procedures. Contributes to and has responsibility for completion of significant special assignments with broad product, technology investment and integration, customer and strategic impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform review, analysis, and allocation of software and system requirements to develop electronic products and platforms for multiple Divisions.
Develop mature supply base for cost effective outsourcing of software.
Manage requirements capture, allocation, and change process with design teams at multiple Divisions to meet cost and functionality requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
B.S. in mechanical, aerospace, electronic, or systems engineering. M.S. or Ph.D. preferred
15 plus years experience.
Develop system and sub-system architectures to satisfy customer requirements.
Develop strategies for platform migration considering technology, markets, and market pricing.
Perform software requirements analysis and validation to ensure designs will meet intended function.
Capable of developing, implementing and evolving cost effective design processes meeting regulatory, customer and business requirements.
Ability to conduct effective reviews to ensure design goals and costs are achieved.
