Job Description:
Typical Duties:
• Install and maintain database server(s)
• Establishing the needs of users
• Planning data flows for new or revised database(s)
• Map out the 'conceptual design' for a planned database
• Design database solutions considering both 'back end' organization of data and 'front end' accessibility for end users
• Maintaining data standards
• Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary
• Controlling access permissions and privileges
• Ensuring that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly
• Capacity planning
• Perform or manage database development activity
• Providing technical support for outdated 'legacy' systems
DEC Technical Environment:
Dart Energy maintains a diverse corporate LAN/WAN/VPN environment utilizing Citrix technologies across nineteen sites in six states. We operate almost entire on Microsoft based software, including databases and servers. We currently only utilize Microsoft SQL Server, however, there may be a need to implement and maintain an Oracle database in the near future (which may operate on Unix).
Job Requirements:
Previous Experience/Education Required:
• BS in Computer Science, or equivalent or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years of enterprise level database administration experience
• DB2 and Actuate/Crystal Reports knowledge
