Job Description:
The core areas of responsibility for this group are:** Commercialization and advanced engineering support for new products in our Critical Care and Cardiac Surgery businesses (concept to launch)** Sustaining engineering support for existing products across four MFG facilities (Salt Lake City, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Brazil) ** Broad-based engineering projects such as line transfers, product reallocations/modifications, multi-plant efficiency/optimization initiatives, etc.** Multi-site/product quality issues and corrective actionsSome of the strategic projects could include: risk management across Edwards' MFG facilities, determining optimal product MFG locations, product outsourcing evaluation, equipment updating vs. replacement studies, staff and resources allocation, and creating a shared services/center of excellence mentality across this team and the larger organization. This position interfaces across multiple functions including Marketing, R&D and HQ/field manufacturing. Requirements: Minimum of twelve years project management experience required. Proven leadership experience, to include managing a technical staff of exempts/non-exempts required. International work experience and previous medical device industry experience strongly preferred. Automated MFG equipment, fixturing, and packaging experience preferred.A bachelor's degree in engineering is required; a masters degree is a preferred.Requires a strategic outlook and the ability to identify trends, anticipate needs, develop a strategy with group buy-in and lead the charge.While outstanding engineering/technical aptitude is a given, equally important is the ability to manage talent, and multi-task between tactical/strategic objectives. Strong relationship skills are essential.
