Job Description: Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design, implementation, and unit and functional testing of software solutions to support the System Integration and QA Test tooling and automation initiatives. The primary area of focus for this position is to provide automation support, including automation support for VOD projects. Solutions will consist of custom Java and/or C/C++ development as well customization or scripting using off the shelf solutions.
Interacts with end users to gather requirements and scope the systems Designs implementation architecture that meets system vision and positions software for change Assists software engineers in design efforts to ensure adherence to architecture Develops, documents, and ensures compliance with best practices including but not limited to the following: o Coding standards o Object oriented design o Platform and framework specific design concerns o Human interface guidelines
Participates in unit, integration, and system test procedures Document final program and develop user instructions, software/hardware requirements, program input / outputs and execution / installation steps Provide ongoing system support by maintaining and enhancing existing software applications
Job Requirements: Experience
BS/MS in Computer Science or relevant technical area, or equivalent of experience and self-study. Minimum 5-7 years related experience Experience with iterative, incremental software development processes Proficiency in Java language required Proficiency with C/C++ a plus Familiar with technologies such as J2EE, Web Services, SOAP, XML, JUnit, Log4j, JMS, JDBC, Hibernate, JDO, Maven, JSP Familiar with frameworks such as Spring, JSF Experience with Eclipse Experience with Unix scripting Experience with relational databases-MySQL, SQL Server Familiar with methodologies such as SOA, IoC, AOP, OOPFamiliar with n-tiered, distributed systems Familiar with digital video concepts and architecture recommended Experience with Open Cable Application Platform (OCAP) or similar device middleware preferred Experience with Video On Demand systems and architecture preferred Experience with settop box application development preferred
