Job Description:


The office reports to NAVFAC Washington. The incumbent provides comprehensive shore facilities management, operations, maintenance, planning, engineering, construction, environmental and base operating support services. Serves as the Deputy to the Officer in Charge of Construction (OICC)-Bethesda and is the primary advisor and assistant to the Deputy on all matters relating to Public Works. Major Duties:This position is located within the Naval Facilities Engineering Command located at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC). The office reports to NAVFAC Washington. The incumbent provides comprehensive shore facilities management, operations, maintenance, planning, engineering, construction, environmental and base operating support services. Serves as the Deputy to the Officer in Charge of Construction (OICC)-Bethesda and is the primary advisor and assistant to the Deputy on all matters relating to Public Works. The incumbent is responsible for oversight of facilities planning, design, acquisition, construction, maintenance, and demolition. Oversees the operation of maintenance shops, facilities services, base operating support services, utilities, transportation, and environmental services. The incumbent is responsible for funding, budgeting, and administration. Ensures consistency in the exercise of Departmental policies, optimizes public work services, provides long-term guidance for the implementation of policies, satisfies the facilities requirements of the station and tenant commands and supports the BRAC construction office. Reviews and evaluates work methods, processes, work assignments, and staffing and provides leadership and direction. Plans work that will be accomplished by subordinates, sets priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Prepares and delivers high-level briefings. The position requires a current registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect.
