This position coordinates resources between institutions, staff and projects, and addresses the more difficult problems associated with construction management, design issues, procurement and contract issues and interaction with Institution management and operations. Oversight and supervision includes the review and approval and in some insistences, the preparation, of all operational procedures, activities, products and reports produced by the Construction Supervisor I. DUTIES: 35% Provide the supervision and administration of construction operations within an I/WL sub-regional district; coordinate, direct and supervise the work activities of subordinate staff involved in construction, renovation and repair projects; make assignments based upon program needs; participate and makes decisions in the recruitment, hiring, training and supervision of subordinate staff; evaluate the performance of personnel and take or effectively recommend appropriate action; develop and/or review project cost estimates and schedules; establish project priorities in relation to workload and urgency of projects and correlate the program on a district basis. 35% Oversee projects for adherence to construction schedules; inspect work in progress frequently for workmanship and compliance with plans, specifications and California Code of Regulations/building codes and industry standards, including review and approval of construction daily inspections/verified reports for licensing requirements related to Correctional Treatment Centers and other correctional health facilities; review plans and specifications for completeness and identifies constructability issues; Consult on the more difficult plan and specification interpretations; recommend development and approve RFI\'s/change orders; review quality and quantity of construction materials purchases within the district; allocate regionally assigned construction equipment based upon district priorities; keep records of project schedules and issue monthly project status reports for assigned institutions. 10% Establish coordination of project requirements with institutions/facilities and staff within the district; provide technical assistance to institutions in preparation of capital outlay budget change proposals and the construction project budgeting process; interface with institution management on project operational issues; liaison with trade union representatives to resolve issues.
