Job Description:

A leader in the marine construction services industry and providing offshore construction, and diving services to the oil and gas industry throughout the world seeks Purchasing Manager preferably with 8-10 years’ experience in purchasing, procurement management and/or material management with experience in offshore marine construction and 1 year management experience. Responsible for directing and coordinating the procurement of materials, components, and supplies for specific company location. Act as liaison between purchasing department, operations, project management, human resources, and estimating to ensure that materials are received. Selects, develops and evaluates staff members to ensure the efficient operation of materials-related functions. Review negotiated contracts, bids, proposals and vendor agreements for commercial correctness, price and acceptability of items to specifications. Recommends and achieves cost reduction efforts for key commodities. Oversees and provides functional purchasing support to department. Run Lawson reports to monitor progress. Monthly evaluation of vendor performance based on critical metrics to include on-time delivery performance, quality performance, and pricing. Assist in billing and receiving problems or discrepancies with vendors. Purchase and ship materials required for barges and projects. Work closely with accounts payable and disbursements to ensure that invoices are paid. Ensures that purchasing policies and procedures are compliant with Sarbanes Oxley. The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Equivalent experience can substitute degree requirement. Extensive knowledge of purchasing systems and procedures. Ability to read and understand engineering, fabrication and construction drawings.
