Woodard & Curran is seeking two Reclaimed Water Technician Trainees for our Water Conserv II project in Winter Garden, FL.
Qualifications: This position is responsible for operating and monitoring the transmission pipeline, Distribution Center pumping system, distribution network, Rapid Infiltration Basins (RIBs) and all associated components at WATER CONSERV II. This position requires sampling and field analysis of reclaimed water and groundwater, as well as field monitoring of groundwater, surface water levels, and rainfall amounts in order to maintain quality control and permit compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Must demonstrate a working ability in SCADA system computer operations and monitoring within 6 months of date of hire
• Must demonstrate a working ability in PC computer operations involving the use of Microsoft® software programs and a working knowledge of database and spreadsheet computer programs within 6 months of date of hire.
• Must demonstrate a working ability in the accurate recording and reduction of all data within 3 months of date of hire
• Must be willing to work shifts alone, rotating shifts, and shifts that may include weekend or holiday duty.
• Must possess the ability to perform tasks sitting (50%), standing (25%) and walking (25%).
• Work positions include sitting at desk operating computers and performing administrative tasks (50%), walking or standing (25%), squatting or kneeling (5%), and working with hands extended above head 18 inches (5%) and 30 inches in front of body (15%).
• Must be able to lift and carry items or equipment weighing up to 75 pounds while walking a distance of 25 feet.
• Must have a home telephone, and be willing to carry a company-provided cell phone and respond to emergencies at any time.
• Requires working inside and outside in environments with noise and all temperatures and environmental conditions, and must be able to work under adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have completed high school level courses in math and English. Completion of courses in chemistry, biology and environmental sciences would be a plus
• Requires good reading, math, writing, and verbal communication skills; a scientific and mechanical aptitude; and the ability to read, interpret and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles, and other equipment.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License, have a safe driving record, and be able to operate vehicles with automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive.
