Job Description:
 A leading national law firm seeks a Senior Financial Analyst with 7-10 years of related experience in budgeting, cost accounting and financial planning and analysis. The candidate accomplishes a variety of financial tasks, including: budgeting, cost accounting, profitability and general financial analysis. Analyzes various business units to determine profitability, growth, financial viability, client retention, and depth of cross-selling to other business units. Makes recommendations to solve complex business problems as appropriate. Acts as liaison to business units advising them as to the best approach to obtain data or analyze key business problems. Uses various technologies to mine and organize data, write reports and communicate information efficiently and effectively. Assist with various monthly reporting requirements by pulling and analyzing financial information. Assists in the complete budgeting cycle as an important financial resource and advisor to major business functions such as HR, IS and the like. Helps ensure the business function complies with their respective budget and has the appropriate finance resources. Determine the best ways to use technology to improve the FP&A function. Produces ad hoc and routine analysis of legal departments, geographic locations, and types of business. Practice group analysis as well as working side by side with practice group leaders to help guide/instruct on financial results. Prepares responses to law firm surveys. Prepares annual data on partner and associate compensation for use by the firm's policy committee in their year end compensation reviews. The candidate should have four-year degree in finance, economics or a related field. Must be proficient with spreadsheet and database software and have a strong sense of how to use technology effectively. Experience with business intelligence tools is helpful.
