Job Description:
Administering and managing databases in the areas of disaster recovery, high availability and database maintenance; assisting the engineering team in designing, analyzing and tuning of database schemas; designing and management of a distributed data architecture; ensuring definition, documentation and implementation of backup procedures for full database recoveries; installing and supporting required database systems; performing problem determination and trouble-shooting of technical problems with the databases; performing problem resolution, database configuration, capacity planning and performance tuning; resolving database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, mirroring and other distributed data issues; performing on-call duty as a part of the operations team; designing and developing new databases, applying knowledge of SQL 2000/2005 clusters and PL/SQL for Oracle 9i; setting up and administering clusters; setting up, maintaining and creating crystal reports.
Job Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Information Systems or a related field, plus five years of progressively responsible, relevant experience, or a Master of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Information Systems or a related field, plus three years of progressively responsible, relevant experience. Experience must include DBA production support experience in a high volume SQL environment, experience writing scripts in T-SQL for SQL Server 2000/2005 and PL/SQL for Oracle 9i, experience setting up and administering cluster solutions for SQL Server 2000/200. Must have knowledge of .NET.
