Work with the Terminal Managers to develop justifiable and necessary capital expenditures, participating in the development of the operating and capital budgets and effectively manage operations consistent with budgetary goals. *Maintain an effective workforce through performance management, providing guidance to Terminal Managers in the development of personnel within the region as it relates to developing individuals at sites and insuring that each operation is conducting training necessary for the growth and safety of employees. *All other duties as assigned. Traffic Duties: *Oversee personnel that facilitate and coordinate the daily traffic needs of our customers and facilities. *Develop and maintain a dialogue with vendors of barge / vessel transportation in order to understand their business needs and capabilities, consistently striving to exceed the expectations of our customers. *Maintain consistent contact with Terminal Managers to ensure needs of the terminals and customers are being met. *Response to night and weekend calls for emergency transportation needs, including maintaining a list of after-hours and weekend dispatch contacts. *Work in conjunction with outside sales to provide the primary link between the customer and facility in answering questions and obtaining rates with respect to the transportation industry. *All other duties as assigned. Educational Requirements (minimal requirements and any additional education or training that would be helpful) *Bachelor's degree in business-related field (i.e. Management, Engineering ,etc.) or equivalent industry working experience.
