Job Description:
Develops project plans related to receipt, deployment, tracking and movement of hardware and software while working with other IT staff, Program Support and other areas of the agency. (15%) * Provides oversight, management, and direction for the activities of the IT Logistics Team including, developing and maintaining databases and other systems that track the receipt, deployment, repair and movement of assets. (20%) * Develops and recommends policies and procedures that support tracking assets and compliance with agency and licensing agreements. (5%) * Coordinates technical issues related to IT asset tracking and tasks between the IT Operations teams. Interfaces with all areas of the agency\'s IT departments and Program Support for coordination of business requirements, problem resolution, and escalation. (20%) * Communicates directly with regional technical staff to provide guidance regarding various IT standards and practices and develops communications for agency staff regarding tracking IT assets. (10%) * Responsible for the oversight of the agency\'s outsourced vendors related to IT logistics and negotiates changes and improvements for contract vendors. (10%) * Participates in intra- and inter-agency automation meetings, technical forums, and IT workgroups/committees. (10%) * Keeps informed of the latest advancements in IT to ensure the smooth transition of the agency\'s information technology and business requirements. (3%) * Functions as the Acting Director of IT Operations from time to time in the absence of the Director. (2%) * Performs other duties as assigned and required to maintain operations. (5%) Knowledge Skills Abilities: * Broad knowledge of hardware/software asset practices, state government procurement, and communications/operations support requirements * Broad knowledge of systems, technical services, and end-user computing.
