Job Description:
The Executive CTM is directly responsible for designing the information and communication systems and infrastructure throughout IT Field Operations. The Executive Chief Technology Manager serves in a leadership capacity and serves as the technical and logistical expert within IT Field Operations in the assessment, selection and approval of information technologies; development of health care information systems; and associated required infrastructures. The incumbent designs and implements when necessary, new information systems to address the information needs of VHA, VBA, NCA and VA management and aids in the assimilation, analysis, and interpretation of this date. As architect of the VA Field Operations IT infrastructure, the ECTM is responsible for assessing the concentration and depth of training required for the various IT support staff throughout the VA. The ECTM serves on various IT Operations and/or National committees or task forces involved with information management, charged with addressing issues of architecture, security and management. Qualifications: Candidates must meet basic qualifications and eligibility requirements within 15 business days of the closing date of the vacancy announcement. Qualification requirements are in accordance with the OPM Group Coverage Qualifications Standards for Administrative and Management Positions for GS-2210: Information Technology Management Series, which are available for review at the Human Resources Office. Qualification Requirements:GS-15 level: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level Specialized experience must be directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled, and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
