Job Description:
Responsibilities: Assisting the Director of Communications, the OSPPL Chief, and other senior OD staff with large-scale scientific communications programs affecting both firm and the national biomedical research community. Developing and implementing a dynamic, proactive public health communications and public relations program that is strategically aligned with the mission and vision of the firm, interfaces fully with the firm Strategic Plan, anticipates the communications needs of the firm, and is within the overall policy framework of the firm Director, firm Director, and the Secretary of firm. Handling all of firm's press and mass media activities, including developing overall strategies for effectively disseminating results of firm's research and assessing the impact of specific dissemination efforts. Providing professional advice in publicizing the firm's programs, policies, and activities in nursing research to various audiences including the research and education communities, the general public, state and local governments, and other Federal agencies. Developing production/marketing and distribution of health materials for electronic and print media supporting national health media campaigns and health communications strategies. This includes planning and arranging activities such as information gathering, concept development, rough draft creation (audio visual storyboard, radio, TV scripts, print text, and final production). Requirements: 1 year of specialized experience in the appropriate field comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 level work in the Federal Government.
