Job Description:

A company supplying heavy building materials to the construction industry seeks a Staff Accountant with 0-3 years’ functional experience in accounting/finance. The candidate will support the cement shared service center. The candidate will be responsible for various aspects of financial and operational accounting related to cement operations. Analyzes data, maintains a complete and accurate general ledger and prepares managerial and financial reports. Will respond to accounting questions and issues and communicate the responses to other functional areas and the operations. Financial and operational transaction processing in SAP for cement operations. Participate in accurate and timely closing of SAP on a monthly basis. Complete the balance sheet reconciliation for assigned accounts on a monthly basis. Prepare and distribute reports and provide analysis/support as needed on a monthly basis. Complete ad hoc projects at the request of the controller shared service – cement. Respond to questions and issues and communicate responses to operations and other functional areas. Work closely with other functions within the SSC groups, corporate, the regions and local operations to administer standard business processes and participate in implementing a shared services center environment in North America. The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in accounting or related field from four-year college or university, or related business experience.
