Were looking for phenomenal Human Resource Representatives for our Mt Vernon and Michigan City, Indiana facilities! The Human Resource Representative is a critical member of the plant HR team. You will report to the HR Manager and focus on employee relations, compensation, benefits and recruiting. The ideal candidate multi-tasks well, has experience interpreting and communicating corporate guidelines and can serve as the interim HR Manager when the need arises.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintain proper documentation and serve as the primary point of contact for most employee relations issues and vendor/supplier communication.
Manage disability processes with employees and third party administrators for Workers' Compensation, Short Term Disability, and FMLA while ensuring adherence to ADA and HIPAA.
Participate in various aspects of safety, including conducting job safety analyses, addressing root cause of safety incidents and participating in safety audits.
Plan, coordinate and facilitate various training programs.
Conduct employee relations investigations.
Coordinate the peer review process.
Coordinate hourly and salaried recruiting and conduct onboarding and new hire orientation.
Compile monthly and annual statistics and prepare of various reports.
Partner with compensation to review positions and determine the need for job description and/or salary grade changes. Process routine hourly and salary pay adjustments.
Generate ideas for and coordinate employee relations activities that foster employee morale and interaction. Spend time walking the production floor, facilitate conflict resolution and provide coaching and feedback as appropriate.
Job Requirements:
A Bachelors degree in HR or Business along with at least two years of HR/employee relations experience and OSHA knowledge. Demonstrated problem-solving and advanced communications skills with intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite. Demonstrated experience managing conflict with grace and tact and maintaining confidentiality.
Preferred requirements:
PHR certification, experience with an applicant tracking system and HR experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
